'Council of Europe Framework Convention

The Heritage Walks are The Chamber of Deputies has definitively approved the ratification of the 'Council of Europe Framework Convention on the value of cultural heritage for society, made in Faro on 27 October 2005'. Italy had signed the treaty in February 2013.

The Convention, ratified to date by 19 member countries of the Council of Europe, is based on the assumption that the knowledge and use of cultural heritage are fully part of human rights, and in particular in the context of the individual's right to take part freely in the cultural life of the community and enjoy the arts, as foreseen by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966.
